Chill in the air in every sense…

Well, it looks like we have seen the last of the summer. The evenings are drawing in and the weather is now chiller in the evenings and cooler during the day. It is harder to sit outside without layers of clothing or getting damp. Will we become more European dressing for the weather and enjoying the outside even when cold…

Whatever I suspect that the new rules regarding the pandemic have hit pubs, restaurants and all in the hospitality industry hard. Having come up with ways of surviving, the rules have changed and made life for those industries more difficult. We are also hearing of staff being verbally abused about the new rules,  the industry is trying to enforce the rules that they have been given, we as a society need to learn to respect those doing their jobs… I recently got sent this ” We isolate now so when we gather again. No one is missing”  Perhaps we need to make sure we are more thoughtful in our actions in order that we all come through this safe.

I always love this time of year, cold weather with sunshine and showers, and the nights drawing in I look forward to lighting fires and snuggling in the warm. It brings soups, stews and being able to spend time in the pub chatting to friends. We can still do that at the moment so lets cherish what we can do and support those who are keeping it open and alive for us…
