Leicester Lockdown halts Pubs reopening

Pubs in Leicester will not be reopening on the 4 July due to the local lockdown restrictions. The council are closing schools and non essential retail after 944 positive tests in the two weeks to the 23 June.

This is a huge blow to pubs and restaurants who have ordered stock and been gearing up for opening. However many of the independent businesses are now looking to see how they can individually re open with the safety of customers and employees alike.

The large companies , Everards, Greene King , JD Weatherspoon and Marston’s are putting a halt on reopening also.

Many pubs had also decided to wait until after 4 July to reopen and phase in there reopening to see what the take up would be ..
